The Goal: Americans want to lead healthier, longer, more productive lives. To achieve this goal, many are turning to community-based efforts which build on community strengths to identify and solve community problems.

Who Are We?

The Coalition for Healthy Cities and Communities in the United States is a partnership of organizations working together to focus attention and resources to improve the health and quality of life in communities.

How This Coalition Defines "Health" and "Community":

"Health" is more than the absence of disease, it includes physical, mental, and social and environmental dimensions and strongly overlaps the concept of well-being.

"Community" is defined to include all persons and organizations within a reasonable circumscribed geographic area in which there is a sense of interdependence and belonging.

Coalition Composition:

The Coalition represents more than 25 organizations (see attached for current membership listing). It's a dynamic and evolving Coalition. Your participation is welcome.
